Seven Ways to Crush Self Doubt in Creative Work  http://www.spencerauthor.com/seven-ways-to-crush-self-doubt/ I loved reading this article because self-doubt is something I struggle with all the time. I think the first way Spencer suggested 'Don't Compare Yourself to Others' is a great suggestion. Although it is easier said then done, it is definitely the first step towards not having self-doubt. I also liked number 5 'Set Goals that are Within Your Control.' This is something I've really been working on personally this year, focusing on what things I can control other wise I will go crazy trying to fix the things I can't.  2. Shedlock (1920) The Hare that Was not Afraid to Die https://sites.google.com/view/mythfolkloreanthology/origins?authuser=0 Just in the past few years I was able to see 'The Rabbit on the Moon". I go back and forth with my boyfriend all the time when I see it because he doesn't.  I have never heard a story of why there is a 'rabbit' on the moon so that's why i choose it as my favorite. I'm sure there are multiple stories of why we see this rabbit. Time Strategies

 Now in my last semester of college, I have found a grove that works for me. I took me a little bit and it's not perfect but I got a gist. I was a server at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse for the past 2 years. I worked nights and had a routine down for when I did classwork. I just started a new job at OU Hillel which is a lot more hands on, engaging and more time. Also takes outside of work, work, which I didn't have as a server, when I left I was done until my next shift. So it'll be an adjustment when managing my time but I hope I can get into a new groove with a new schedule! Time Management

Assignments

 I'm looking forward to this class, I like the layout. I am a little worried about the workload of readings and assignments with my other classes and part time job, but at least it's interesting and not science or math. I like that we will be able to interact with other students even though it is online.  There are a lot of opportunities and different ways to get extra credit which is not common in a lot of classes, some professors don't even offer extra credit. The one that stuck out the most  'Check-In and Connect' adjusting for the pandemic to make it easier on students and hopefully professors during this crazy time.  Assignments 

Growth Mindset

I had never heard of Carol Dweck, but i really liked her perspective, it was unique but pretty spot on for my generation and the generation after me. I am very much a big picture thinker and i feel her way is always looking forward, at the big picture. One thing I really related to is when she talked about how in a study when kids would take a test... "after a failure, they looked for someone who did worse than they did so they could feel really good about themselves." I used to do this all the time in middle/high school. I hate test and was never any good at taking them, i remember when i didn't do so hot I would look to see what my friends got, hoping it was the same or below mine so I wouldn't feel as bad for my bad test score. Since being at OU, I have been able to take course that are geared toward my major of Public Relations, which is more project based rather than tests. I learned how I have to study and how I get my work done in an efficient way, that works f

Introduction to My Life

Hi, my name is Nicole, I'm a senior here at the University of Oklahoma from Dallas, Texas. I am majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Non-Profit. A big part of my college years has been being a part of Hillel at the University of Oklahoma. Hillel is the hub for Jewish life on OU's campus. I started my freshman year by helping lead Friday night services, Shabbat, by playing my guitar. I have been PR and engagement intern as well as a student representative on the Board of Directors. I have recently been promoted to staff as the Operations Associate. I basically do everything and everything, I'm super excited to start this semester in this position, even though it will be an unknown and crazy one. The other job I have had is at BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse. I went from hostess, to takeout to server. I loved serving, has much hell as it was some nights, I liked my managers, coworkers and made pretty good money, then COVID hit. I got 'furloughed' in March th

 Nursery Rhythms: What Really Happened This title was the first one to jump out at me. As a kid you hear all the common nursery rhythms that seem so innocent, but as you get older you find out that they weren't so innocent after all but that there was a lot more to the story. It's kind of like in all kids shows they put adult humor or inappropriate jokes that you never got as a kid and just blew it over, but when you re-watch it as an adult... you find the authors/writers sneaky ways to make adult humor in their stories. https://sites.google.com/view/nurseryrhymesremastered/home Alexa, How do I Get to Canterbury? Favorite Place: Soggy Bottom Trails

My favorite place it Soggy Bottom Trails in Wanette, Oklahoma.  The bridge is the only picture I could find of Soggy Bottom specifically, the river is right below this bridge. I attached a picture of my roommate and I in a razor.  Soggy Bottom a place where people come out to ride their four-wheelers and razors through the river, hang out and get muddy.  This is my favorite place because it is so much fun. I grew up in Dallas, TX and never did anything like this. Ever since my roommate took me for the first time a few months ago, we have been going all the time.
